The identity of the mysterious smiling female corper, who has been a familiar sight on the NYSC homepage for years, has now been exposed, eliciting comments on social media.
The woman in the viral photo is Adetuke Morgan, also known as Tuke Morgan.
During the 2013 Batch C service year, she served in Lagos State as part of the National Youth Service Corps.
Tuke was a member of the Brigade Band and Platoon 7 at her orientation camp.
Her portrait later featured on the official NYSC portal, attracting the attention of many users and making her an unofficial “face” of the scheme.
Tuke Morgan reportedly pursued a career in the artistic field following her military year. She has established herself as a professional saxophone, model, blogger (with her site Tuke’s Quest), experienced photographer, and online media personality.
She leads a band that has gained recognition throughout Nigeria for its performances at weddings and other special events.
Tuke later pursued acting, entering Nollywood.
She has acted in films such as The Wives, where she played the character Ugo, and Love In Every Word 2, where her band performed during a wedding scene.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Tuke is happily married and has a kid.
Her transformation from a smiling face on a national portal to a multi-talented creative professional has inspired many Nigerians who have long been curious about the woman in the iconic photo.
