A Nigerian man’s rigid marriage standards, which state that cohabitation is not negotiable prior to marriage, have sparked controversy on the internet.
He explained why living together is crucial for him and how it helps him assess a partner’s genuine nature in a post that went popular on X (previously Twitter). He wrote, “Cohabitation is a must for me,” in the post.
He went on to say that if a lady didn’t live with him for six months to a year, he would never marry her.
Beyond weekends, visits, or the “dating mask,” he clarified, this time enables him to glimpse a partner’s true self.
The man underlined the need of regular routines, pointing out that staying up until seven in the morning is a “hard red flag.” Laziness, according to him, is a deal-breaker that may “ruin a home.”
Living together, he claimed, sheds light on accountability, self-control, and constancy in daily life.
The post also addressed sexual compatibility. Rwad what he said below;
“I love sex and I expect us to have sex at least twice in a week,” adding that he does not want a partner who frequently says, “I’m not in the mood” or “I don’t feel like.”
He emphasised watching how a spouse handles conflict or arguments, wondering if she could lock him out, quit cooking, or question his authority when upset.
He claims that cohabitation reveals habits that are frequently hidden by brief visits and polite conversation.
