A former philanthropist has appealed for assistance after revealing that he lost his businesses in Dubai and is now struggling to meet his financial obligations, including paying his rent.

The man said he once enjoyed a comfortable lifestyle, running businesses in Dubai and frequently travelling between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates in business class.

However, he claimed that his financial situation took a major turn about three years ago when he was unable to return to Dubai. According to him, the development eventually led to the closure of his businesses and a significant loss of income.

He explained that despite experiencing financial difficulties, he continued to support people through his online platforms whenever he had the means to do so.

Recalling how his circumstances changed, he said:

“It is only in Nigeria that people are happy about others’ downfall. I used to do very well for myself. I owned businesses in Dubai and flew business class in and out of the country until they said they don’t want Nigerians in their country about three years ago.”

The former philanthropist’s disclosure has drawn attention to the financial difficulties he says he has faced since losing his businesses and source of income.

I couldn’t enter the country, there was no income, and my business was shut down. Despite that, I still come online to help people.”

The former philanthropist revealed that his financial situation had now deteriorated to the point where his landlord allegedly evicted him from his home over unpaid rent.

He also disclosed that he has put his car up for sale as he seeks to raise money and get back on his feet.

“Now my landlord has thrown me out of my house because I couldn’t pay rent,” he lamented.

His disclosure has sparked reactions online, with some social media users expressing sympathy and encouraging him to seek support as he navigates his current financial difficulties.
