“I sold limousine gifted to me to buy motorcycles for my pastors” — Pastor Adeboye

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), shared an emotional testimony about handling expensive gifts during his early ministry.

Speaking at a church thanksgiving service, Pastor Adeboye recalled being surprised when an elderly woman gave him a Mercedes Benz while he was still commuting by bus.

“I almost said, ‘Alakoba wo le leyi?’ I hope this one is not trying to get me into trouble,” he said.

Unsure what to do with the car, the cleric explained that he parked it and avoided driving it. However, he received a divine warning in a dream for turning down the woman’s generosity.

“Why are you robbing my daughter of her blessing? She sowed a seed, and you are not allowing the seed to germinate,” he quoted God as saying.

Following the instruction, Pastor Adeboye stated that he handed over the car to his late deputy, Pastor Abiodun. Abiodun advised him to enjoy the gift himself, but he insisted on giving it away.

He revealed that shortly after, he received three more Mercedes-Benz vehicles, an experience he described as incredible.

While still pondering what to do with the new gifts, Pastor Adeboye said a man arrived at his house around 2:00 a.m. in a rare six-door Mercedes limousine, claiming God had instructed him to deliver it right away.

“I said to God, ‘Even if I die and they put me in this car, I will wake up. Will you permit me to sell the car?’” he recalled.

According to him, after praying and receiving approval, he sold the luxury vehicle and used the proceeds to purchase motorcycles for his pastors.

“I remember I sold it and used the money to buy motorcycles for my pastors,” he concluded.
