A Nigerian lady has sought advice online after her fiancé allegedly accused her of making his barber too comfortable in their home by serving him food in his absence.

The story was shared on Facebook by user Sylvia Okonkwo, who explained that the barber was also her former senior course mate from university.

According to Sylvia, her fiancé’s barber had been visiting their home to cut his hair, but she did not know him personally until she began living with her fiancé a few months ago as they prepared for their wedding.

She later discovered that the barber was her senior course mate and informed her fiancé that they had known each other from school, although they were not particularly close and had only been in the same department.

Sylvia said she had interacted with the barber previously without any issues, including during her fiancé’s birthday celebration.

The barber reportedly visited their home again last week to cut her fiancé’s hair, but the fiancé had yet to arrive.

She called him, and he reportedly confirmed that he knew the barber was at the house but was stuck in traffic.

Sylvia said she allowed the barber to wait in the parlour while she continued preparing food.

After finishing her cooking, she casually asked whether he wanted something to eat, expecting him to politely decline.

However, the barber reportedly accepted the offer.

She wrote:> “You know that question we ask visitors expecting them to say no?😂. But this guy said, ‘Yes ooh, I dey my oga house nau. Bring the food while I wait for him.’”

Sylvia said she served him rice, stew and juice before returning to the kitchen.

‘So you now comfortably serve strangers food?’

According to Sylvia, her fiancé arrived home less than five minutes later.

After greeting the barber, he reportedly went upstairs to change before asking Sylvia about what had happened.

She said her fiancé questioned why she had served the barber food while he was away.

Sylvia claimed that she initially thought the issue had ended, but her fiancé reportedly brought it up again later that night.

She wrote:> “I thought the matter had ended until later that night when he brought it up again. He said I was making the guy too comfortable in his house and accused me of having something to do with him😳,”

Sylvia said she was shocked by the accusation and attempted to explain the circumstances, but alleged that her fiancé refused to listen.

The couple reportedly went to bed without speaking to each other that night.

The following day, Sylvia said she left her fiancé’s home following the disagreement.

She claimed that more than four days had passed without him calling her or answering her calls.

She also said she later went to his house but did not find him there.

Expressing confusion over the situation, Sylvia wrote:> “Honestly, I don’t even understand what crime I committed🥺. Please post for me🙏🏼”

Her story has since sparked discussions online, with social media users sharing different opinions about hospitality, boundaries, trust and jealousy in relationships.
