A woman has described how terror induced by a spiritual warning resulted in the breakdown of her relationship and a missed opportunity to relocate overseas.

The incident occurred in 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown, when she stated that she was in a committed relationship with a man she really loved.

According to her, the relationship persisted despite the constraints, and her partner, whom she characterised as financially secure, gave care and support throughout.

After travel restrictions were lifted in 2021, the man relocated to the United States, with plans to bring her with him shortly thereafter.

She began processing her visa and international passport while awaiting final permission.

However, the situation changed once a friend referred her to a prophet for spiritual counsel.

During the session, she stated that the priest cautioned her not to travel, suggesting she would not be able to survive and that her boyfriend had bad intentions.

“The prophet told me not to travel, saying he saw that I would d!e if I went and that my boyfriend wanted to use me for something fetish. I became very scared and didn’t know what to think,” she said.

She added, “I called my boyfriend immediately and confronted him. Instead of understanding, he got angry and questioned why I went to see the prophet. He blocked me everywhere, and that was how everything ended.”

Lingering regret years after

She noted that similar cases of strained relationships linked to external influence were reported during and after the lockdown period, as uncertainty drove many to seek spiritual direction.

“I still regret that decision till today. I lost my chance to leave the country because of that prophecy, and I sometimes wish I handled things differently,” she added.
