A Nigerian lady has provoked passionate reactions online after posting a heartbreaking story about a relationship she had at 19, exposing lies, manipulation, and emotional abuse.
The post, which was posted on X (previously Twitter), attracted a lot of attention since many people could connect to her early experience of trusting the wrong person.
The woman claims that the issue began when her ex-boyfriend said his phone was broken. She handed him her own phone out of love, leaving herself without one.
She borrowed her friend’s phone and put her SIM card in whenever she needed to make a call.
In order to escape being questioned, she also made up the story that her phone had been stolen. Unknown to her, the young man had blocked her number.
She claimed that she would keep calling him, cry uncontrollably, and blame herself for not getting through to him.
“He was the only one who could call me at that time because he had already blocked my line,” she wrote.
The lady then found she was never the only woman in the relationship. She even told the girl that she was forcing herself on him after disclosing that the man had a girlfriend.
When she noticed her phone in another woman’s hand during class, things got worse.
The girl was, shockingly, her course mate. She then found out that the man gave her phone to his girlfriend after the girl’s phone was stolen.
He then bought a new phone for himself. He denied everything when she confronted him. He said he needed the phone for business and that the female was his cousin. “I believed him,” she admitted.
She even expressed regret for becoming upset and let the girl keep using her phone.
The woman claimed that this was just one of the numerous traumatic events she went through. She continued the connection for more than two years in spite of everything.
