“I fasted for a man for 21 days, he proposed to my prayer partner” — Lady

A woman told an emotional story of love, faith, and heartache after a 21-day church fast ended unexpectedly for her.

The story, which has gone viral on social media, describes how she assumed a man she admired sincerely would someday become her spouse.

According to her, everything seemed to trend in that direction until the last day of the fast, when a surprise twist occurred.

She mentioned that her pastor had launched a 21-day fast aimed at finding clarity in relationships.

She was already thinking about someone. She described the man as gentle, intentional, and spiritually grounded.

They routinely prayed together, volunteered in church, and discussed their purpose and beliefs.

Because of that connection, she decided to add a personal prayer request during the fast. “Lord, if he is my husband, confirm it clearly.”

She kept the prayer private, save for one person: her prayer partner, whom she referred to as Grace.

Throughout the fast, the two women would pray together every evening. Throughout the 21-day spiritual activity, they clasped hands, prayed for their futures, and encouraged one another.

At one point, she admitted to Grace that she believed the man might be the one meant for her. “I think he might be the one.”

Grace responded calmly. “Then let’s pray God’s will.”

She claimed to have remained focused and disciplined during the period, avoiding sugar and other temptations while praying sincerely.

On the last day of the fast, which fell on a Sunday, the man requested to speak with her after church.

She stated that her heart was racing, believing that her prayers had finally been answered.

However, the talk immediately turned a new one.

The man apparently told her that he loved her profoundly but had been praying during the fast and felt guided in a different route.

When she enquired who the individual was, he eventually provided their name. It was Grace, her prayer companion.

The woman claimed she struggled to absorb the situation and subsequently sat in her car, ashamed and upset.

Two weeks later, the couple’s engagement images appeared online. The caption on the photographs said, “When you fast and God answers.”

According to her, the caption stung more than when he revealed the proposal.
