Nkechi acknowledged that the question might have come across as insensitive and asked for forgiveness from the public, emphasizing that she wasn’t attempting to publicly humiliate Imisi or gain influence.
She went on to address those who were making fun of her online by saying,,
“If you found my question offensive, I am truly sorry. Please find a place in your heart to forgive me. To everyone dragging me, fighting me, or abusing me, I’m sorry. It was not intentional at all.”
Nkechi clarified that she refrained from speaking out during the controversy in order to prevent fanning the flames, pointing out that those who are familiar with her history—particularly her close bond with her deceased mother—would be able to relate to her viewpoint.
She added that the BBNaija star eventually calmed down and clarified that she had already privately apologized to Imisi before leaving the party.
Some people’s hearts have been softened by the apology, but others are not persuaded and maintain that the timing of the question was incorrect regardless of the intention.
