Nigerian singer Skales has sparked reactions online after expressing doubts about the candidates expected to contest the 2027 presidential election.
The discussion began after journalist Oseni Rufai asked social media users who they would vote for in the upcoming election. Responding, Skales said he would not choose any candidate.
His comment led to a response from another user, Jayfreshworld, who suggested the singer had not done enough research on the available options.
After Skales maintained that he would not support any candidate, the user replied:
“When you say none means you haven’t done your research, they’re good candidates on that list”
Skales, however, stood his ground, responding:
“To be honest none ! I don’t see any good candidate that can take this country to a better place”
The exchange has since generated discussions online, with Nigerians sharing mixed opinions about the 2027 election and debating the kind of leadership the country needs.
It has also added to wider conversations about voter expectations and public trust in political leadership ahead of the next presidential poll.
