A Nigerian woman has confronted her boyfriend after he allegedly ended their relationship because she complimented one of his friends, questioning why he chose to break up with her over the incident.

In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the woman revealed that she immediately headed to her boyfriend’s apartment after receiving a breakup message, hoping to discuss the situation and resolve the issue.

However, she claimed that her boyfriend instructed the security personnel not to allow her into the compound.

Lady Questions Boyfriend’s Decision

Recounting the incident, she said:

“I am right in front of my boyfriend’s house. When I saw the breakup text, the next thing I did was to take my bath and rush down to his apartment. And guess what? I’m here. And he ordered the security not to open the gate for me.”

The woman expressed confusion over the breakup and accused her boyfriend of being insecure for allegedly ending their relationship simply because she complimented his friend.

She argued that the matter could have been handled through communication rather than an immediate breakup, adding that his reaction made her question whether he was genuinely prepared for a relationship.

“I just want to ask him why he’s so insecure. Breaking up with me simply because I complimented his friend. And now he asked the security not to open the gate for me.

So are you seeing that this guy was not even ready for a relationship at first? Because, of course, this is something we can just talk over,” she added.

Lady Says She Is Done With the Relationship

The video has generated mixed reactions online, with some social media users sympathising with the woman while others debated whether complimenting a partner’s friend could reasonably trigger insecurity in a relationship.

The woman eventually declared that she was done with the relationship, saying the experience had made her rethink her approach to romantic relationships.
