A Nigerian woman has stirred reactions online after disclosing the minimum amount she expects a potential partner to earn before she would consider dating him.

In a video shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, the woman stated that a monthly income of ₦500,000 or even ₦1 million would not meet her expectations.

She explained that she would prefer to date a man earning at least ₦10 million monthly, saying such a partner should also be capable of providing her with ₦500,000 every month for upkeep.

She further stated that she does not believe she should be expected to contribute financially to the relationship, explaining what she believes she can offer in return.

In her words:

“I can’t date a man that earns just ₦1 million a month, even ₦500k. At least ₦10 million I can manage. How much will he be giving me if he’s making lower than that? At least he should be able to give me ₦500k as my monthly allowance for upkeep.

The only thing I can bring to the table is myself. Whenever he wants to have sex, I’m available. If you want me, he has to give me what will make me stay. Why would you expect me to bring money to the table? I’m not there to feed the man.”

Her comments have sparked a debate online, with social media users sharing different views about financial expectations, relationships and responsibilities between partners.
