A Nigerian woman has cried out for help after discovering that her savings had purportedly vanished from her Access Bank account.

In a video posted on X (previously Twitter), the woman stated that she has been saving money with the bank since 2022, while living and working in Dubai. She claimed that she had just returned to Nigeria and went to the bank on Monday to verify her account balance.

“They’ve taken my money, all my savings. From 2022, I have been saving in Access Bank. I was not around. I just arrived yesterday and came to the bank today, Monday. When I arrived to check my balance in Access Bank, I cannot find even one thousand naira in the account,” she said.

The woman expected to have approximately ₦2 million in her account between 2022 and 2023. She stated that she continued to save from 2023 to 2026 only to learn that the funds were no longer available.

She claimed Access Bank notified her that ₦20,000 had been withdrawn from her account since 2024, despite her claims that she did not carry out the transactions. She also stated that she intended to attend an MTN office to find out what had happened to her SIM card.

“Please Nigerians, please I need your help. I was living in Dubai. I was working. I went through a lot. Please somebody, please help. I want my money back. I don’t know how to recover from this,” she added.

The woman’s account has sparked worry online, with some social media users asking her to formally report the alleged illegal transactions to the bank and the appropriate authorities.

She continued to ask for help as she sought to recoup the savings she alleges she lost.
