A Nigerian lady has sparked debate online after sharing some of the things her mother does in marriage that she considers “absurd” and says she would never practice in her own relationship.

In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @AsakyGRN, the lady reflected on her parents’ daily routine and expressed surprise at the level of domestic care her mother gives her father, even after both return home from work together.

According to her, her mother rarely scolds her father, even when he is wrong, and continues to attend to him in ways she personally finds excessive.

She specifically mentioned that after her father finishes eating, her mother still carries his plate, adding that she personally would only serve food when she feels like it.

The video has since generated mixed reactions online, with some people praising the mother’s actions as a sign of love, respect, and traditional family values, while others agreed with the lady’s view that relationships should involve more balanced responsibilities between partners.
