A Nigerian businesswoman released an emotional video after allegedly abandoning things worth over ₦1 million inside a commercial bus in Lagos. She claims extreme tiredness prompted the pricey mistake.
The visibly distressed entrepreneur claimed she had been working nonstop without getting enough sleep, despite repeated recommendations from her family and customers to ease down.
She thought the loss would have a disastrous effect on her business.
In the viral video, the woman confesses to ignoring multiple requests to take a break from work.
“Somebody call God to have mercy on me. Family has been telling me, ‘Rest.’ Even my customers have been saying, ‘Rest.’ I’m forming hardworking and I work fast. I hardly sleep. I don’t sleep during the day. I don’t sleep at night.”
She added that she flew to Lagos to purchase skincare items directly from vendors, including original sunscreens that she planned to resale to her consumers.
She bought 20 La Roche sunscreens for ₦22,000 apiece, 20 Nivea sunscreens, Skin Aqua products, face steamers, candies, and other stuff.
The entrepreneur assessed the goods’ overall value at more than ₦1 million.
“I stupidly came down from the bus”
She claimed that weariness overtook her while travelling on a commercial bus, forcing her to fall asleep.
“Sleep caught me. I even put my phone inside my bag and zipped it tightly so that I would not lose it because I was sleeping off.”
She claimed that the cartons with the products were stored inside the vehicle, but she neglected to grab them when she got off the bus.
“Do you know that I stupidly came down from the bus forgetting everything I bought? This one pain me.”
The woman claimed she only realised the missing items after returning home, changing clothing, eating, and lying down to rest.
“When I opened my eyes, I said, ‘Where’s my package?’ That was when I remembered I did not carry it.”
She added that she immediately began travelling back towards Mile 2 in the hope of recovering the items.
“If I don’t see it, I’ll go sick, and I might even pack my business.”
