“His father abandoned him as a child” – Toluwanisings’ maternal family makes shocking claims about his upbringing

The maternal family of late gospel singer Toluwanisings has spoken out amid discussions surrounding his upbringing, making fresh claims about the struggles he faced before becoming successful.

In a video circulating online, a family member explained that Toluwanisings lost his mother at an early age, shortly after she travelled to the North to meet her husband.

According to the family, she died mysteriously nine months after giving birth, with no satisfactory explanation for her death. They claimed they eventually asked for the child to be brought back because those caring for his mother could not adequately look after him.

The family further alleged that his father abandoned him as a child and went on to have other children, leaving him to fend for himself.

They questioned where his father was when he reportedly hawked goods between Ekiti and Osun states and struggled to sponsor his education at Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH).

“Where was the father when this boy was hawking around? Where were they when he struggled to school himself? If they have receipts of anything they did for him from infancy, let them bring them out,” the family member stated.

Despite the alleged abandonment, the family revealed that Toluwanisings later reconnected with his father after being advised to do so, invited him from the North, and began caring for him.

They noted that he had promised to complete a house for his father and offer him other support, but he passed away before he could fulfil those promises.

The family also stated that Toluwanisings’ wife supported him through his difficult years, providing him with food and shelter when he had nothing.

Their version of events has added another layer to the ongoing family discussions about the late singer’s upbringing and his relationship with his father.
