Adasu_d_gr8, a social media user, posted an emotional report of a church service that impacted many attendees.

According to the article, during announcements, the pastor grew very distraught and burst into tears before admitting that his 19-year-old daughter is pregnant outside of marriage.

He reportedly stated that the pressure and fear of public embarrassment made the temptation to consider abortion too great.

However, he stated that he chose to publicise the issue as a declaration that the family will not pursue that route, characterising it as a method to “shame the devil.” Other ministers ultimately walked him out of the sanctuary after he became overly emotional.

Despite anticipation of gossip and judgement, the church allegedly responded with a standing ovation in favour of the pastor and his family.

“Today in Church, during the announcement, the pastor started crying.

After about five minutes, he broke the news. His 19 years old daughter is pregnant—out of wedlock.

He said the temptation to abort the baby to avoid public shame was becoming overwhelming, so he’s announcing it to shame the devil that they won’t do that.

And then he started crying again. Other ministers needed to lead him out.

I thought there’ll be backbiting and side talk but he was led out with a standing ovation.

I felt so happy that the Church is regaining the love that was once in our midst again.”
