Corps member honors late father by saluting his casket at burial

An emotional event occurred at a burial ceremony when a Nigerian corps member saluted her late father’s casket in full National Youth Service Corps outfit.

According to her account, her father had always expressed a strong wish for her to serve and salute him in his shop once she started her NYSC.

Sadly, he died before she could begin the one-year obligatory duty.

Determined to honour his wishes, the young woman wore her NYSC uniform to his burial and saluted his corpse during the ceremony.

A video from the event showed her standing in front of the casket, saluting the family members and guests who had gathered to pay their final respects.

“My dad really wanted me to salute him at his shop once I went for NYSC, but unfortunately, he passed away before my NYSC. So, I decided to fulfill his last wish.”
