“He deserves all he gets, I won’t protest for him” – Isaac Fayose blasts El-Rufai amid alleged ₦432bn probe

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai is entitled to the treatment he is currently receiving from the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu, according to well-known businessman and socialite Isaac Fayose.

According to reports, El-Rufai is being investigated for an alleged ₦432 billion corruption scam that occurred during his tenure in office.

Fayose responded on Instagram, saying that the former governor “deserves all he gets” and that he would not participate in a protest purportedly planned to call for El-Rufai’s release.

He said that religious inequality was brought about in Kaduna State by El-Rufai’s administration.

“During his administration, El-Rufai turned Kaduna into a Muslim state, and the Christians became vulnerable,” Fayose said.

He added that prior administrations had upheld a political agreement by giving Christians the deputy governorship prior to El-Rufai taking office, but that the former governor had broken that agreement.

Fayose insisted that he would not back any demonstration in favour of El-Rufai, emphasising that his allegiance is to Nigeria rather than any political party.

“I’m not and will never be a member of ADC. I belong only to the ‘Nigerian Party.’ I go for what is good for Nigerians. The only candidate I like is Peter Obi,” he added, referring to former presidential candidate Peter Obi.
