After sharing her unpleasant encounter with a man she met during a talking stage, a Nigerian woman sparked controversy on social media.

She claims that after he proposed that they meet, she consented to do so. She was so excited about the meeting that she immediately reserved a cab from her house to get there.

Recounting the incident, she said:

“Na Shoprite I come today so. I was in my house peacefully, that was how this talking stage guy told me we should see. I said okay and booked cab to meet him.”

But what appeared to be a straightforward date soon became awkward.

She disclosed that when they first met, the man only bought her ice cream before making an unexpected request that took her by surprise.

She claims that even though it was their first encounter, he asked her to accompany him home.

She was uncomfortable with the request and declined right away, emphasizing that she couldn’t go home with someone she hardly knew.

“He bought me ice cream and the next thing he said is I should follow him home. Because of ice cream? Something I can afford. I said no, I can’t follow you, I don’t know you,” she added.

The situation took another turn when she asked him for transport fare to return home. She claimed the man refused and walked away, leaving her stranded.

Her story has since gone viral, drawing mixed reactions from social media users.

While some sympathised with her situation, others questioned her decision to go out without making backup plans.
