A Nigerian woman who once struggled with anger towards God after losing her newborn baby has shared her joy after welcoming a set of twin boys.
The mother revealed that she went through a difficult period of grief and depression after her first child died just three days after birth in 2023.
Sharing photos from the dedication of her “rainbow babies,” she reflected on the pain of losing her first child and how the experience affected her relationship with God.
‘I blamed God’
According to the woman, the loss left her emotionally devastated after she had endured a difficult labour and formed a bond with her newborn.
She said she spent about two years dealing with depression and questioning why she had experienced such a painful loss.
She wrote:
“The year 2023 I became a mother. After 3 days the baby d!ed.
“I went through depression for 2 years. The pains of bonding with a child after a rigorous labour and later losing that child took a hold on me for so long.
“I blamed God. I blamed my father. I blamed alot of people. I was angry, despondent and so much emotions bloated together.
“I questioned God, I asked him so many WHYS. I refused to serve him again. But God was quiet. He still went ahead to give me a choir director role at Methodist Church Iquobazuwa,Edo state against my will.”
‘I didn’t know he was working behind the scenes’
The woman said she gradually returned to serving God while trying to cope with her grief.
She explained that, despite her anger and questions, she later came to believe that God was working behind the scenes to bring about a new chapter in her life.
She wrote:
“Then slowly I began serving him again While trying to put my grief behind me. I didnt know that even when I was questioning Gof and saying alot to him in my angry state. I didn’t know he was working behind the scenes for my sake.”
‘God gave me double blessing’
The woman said her experience took a dramatic turn in 2025 when she became pregnant with twins.
Describing the children as “two nations” and a double blessing, she said the birth of her twin boys gave her a renewed sense of hope after the loss she had experienced.
She wrote:
“Year 2025, God blessed my womb with two nations. Two identical nations. God shown kept to his promise of being a father to me. God gave me double blessing for my lost. God can be trusted. And God is not like men.
“Happy dedication to my twins boys.”
Her story has resonated with social media users, with many celebrating the arrival of her twin boys and the journey from grief and disappointment to what she describes as a new season of joy.
