Big Brother Naija star Cross Okonkwo has raised concerns about security in Lagos after alleging that he was r0bbed by a street beggar in the Ikate area of Lekki.
The reality TV star made the allegation in a video shared on social media, where he recounted his encounter with a group of beggars who approached his vehicle while he was in the area.
According to Cross, one of the men allegedly reached into his vehicle and removed an item before running away.> “Federal government, I just got r0bbed. All these beggars, they were in my window talking to me. I did not refuse the guy and he just ripped off something from my car and ran away,” Cross said.
The BBNaija star said he immediately chased after the alleged thief but was unable to catch him because the man reportedly ran away at high speed.
The incident reportedly left Cross concerned about the activities of street beggars in Lagos and the broader security situation in the city.
He called on the government to take action over what he described as the growing presence of street beggars around Lagos.> “Nigeria is not s@fe. Federal government, what kind of mistake are you guys doing allowing these guys on the street?” he said.
Cross added:> “This Lagos, I don’t understand why you guys are allowing these people to be on the street. This is unfair.”
The allegation has generated reactions online, with discussions focusing on street begging, public safety and the challenges of ensuring security around busy areas of Lagos.
