Exam cancelled at University of Calabar after student says Holy Spirit prompted her to confess leaked answers

An examination in the Department of Accounting at the University of Calabar was abruptly cancelled after an examiner allegedly provided question sheets with both the questions and the correct answers to students.

According to student testimonies, the error happened at the beginning of the exam when applicants noticed the answers were on the same sheet as the questions.

Despite recognising the inaccuracy early on, the students apparently stayed silent and continued to write the exam without raising any alarm.

The scenario apparently took an unexpected turn approximately five minutes before the exam ended when a female student stood up to notify the invigilators of the inaccuracy.

Witnesses reported that the girl explained that she could no longer remain silent about the situation and felt forced to speak up.

Following the announcement, the test hall fell into disarray as invigilators checked the claim and confirmed that the answers had been delivered alongside the questions. The examiner was immediately notified, and the exam was subsequently cancelled.

Students were told to cease writing and submit their scripts, and department officials indicated that a new date would be set for a new exam.

The episode has provoked extensive discussion among students about academic integrity, personal conscience, and collective accountability in exam circumstances.

As of the time of publication, the institution had not published an official statement on whether disciplinary action would be taken against the examiner or whether more enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the blunder would be conducted.
