After sharing their unusual love story—which started as friendship and developed into marriage after years of perseverance—a couple gained attention on the internet.
The wife disclosed that when her husband first saw her at a friend’s introduction, she didn’t seem interested at first.
She insisted that she was only interested in friendship despite his persistent attempts to become close, including bringing him to other ladies she thought would be a better fit.
Their narrative demonstrates how relationships can change in unforeseen ways over time.
“I kept introducing him to my friends. I was like you want to date me but I can’t date you, but I have a friend you might like. We met at a friend’s introduction, and I didn’t notice him. Later, a random number called me, and that was how we started talking, but I made it clear I wasn’t interested,” she said.
The pair claims that despite her initial resistance, the man gradually won her over after being dependable for a number of years.
She revealed that he even offered a mutual acquaintance money in order to get her contact information.
Similar persistence-focused relationship narratives have emerged in recent years, frequently eliciting conflicting responses on commitment and limits.
“He was consistent from 2013 to 2019. Even though I said he wasn’t my type, he turned out to be perfect for me. My husband even gave a mutual friend N10k to get my number, and now we’ve been married for five years. As a single person, marry someone you know, from a family you understand,” she added.
