Emeka Ike says relationships become a ‘scam’ when driven by personal gain

Veteran Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has spoken out on love and marriage, emphasising that partnerships should not be viewed as opportunities for personal gain.

In a recent interview, the actor stated that love and marriage are not necessarily a “scam.”

According to him, difficulties develop when people enter relationships with the intention of benefiting financially or materially from their partners.

Emeka Ike suggested that some people pursue relationships based on what they hope to obtain rather than genuine affection, which he believes destroys the fundamental nature of love.

He said that love should be sacrosanct and identified it as the foundation of all healthy relationships, encouraging Nigerians to stop treating romantic partnerships as transactional agreements.

Read his words below;

“Love and marriage is not a sc@m, but using relationships as meal tickets is what makes it one. Love and marriage is beautiful. But when you are liking a man for an end or liking a woman for something, that is where it becomes a scam. Plenty girls are going into relationships because of what they want to get or what they want to get or collect from the man. They should go and be doing bambiala instead of using relationships. Love is supposed to be sacred. Love is is the foundation. It is like a pillar of every good relationship. Let’s stop messing it up in Nigeria.”
