Doris Ogala Wins AAC Governorship Ticket in Abia

Nollywood actress, Doris Ogala, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) for the 2027 Abia State governorship election.

Her victory followed the party’s primary election, where she secured the ticket to represent the AAC in the race for the state’s top political office.

Videos circulating on social media showed the actress celebrating with party supporters shortly after she was announced as the winner of the primary.

Ogala’s emergence comes after months of internal disagreements within the party after her decision to seek the governorship position. Despite the resistance to her ambition in some quarters, she secured the party’s nomination and will now carry its flag into the election.

She is expected to challenge incumbent Governor Alex Otti, who is seeking another term in office under the banner of the Labour Party.

At the national level, the AAC will also be represented by Omoyele Sowore in the presidential election, where he is expected to face other major contenders, including President Bola Tinubu.

The actress has recently remained in the public eye, not only for her political activities but also for controversies surrounding her personal life.

Earlier in the year, she was involved in a public dispute with a Nigerian cleric over allegations related to a failed marriage arrangement and other issues.
