The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), has cautioned security personnel engaged in counterter√0rism and anti-baπditry operations against delaying action when confronting cr!minal elements, warning that inaction under the guise of awaiting orders would not be tolerated.

Speaking on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, during the commissioning of 62 armoured vehicles and more than 300 motorcycles acquired by the Sokoto State Government for security agencies, Musa urged troops to respond decisively to threats while operating within the established rules of engagement.

“Anybody who refuses to sh00t a terr0rist in the name of waiting for an order, we will treat him like a baπdit,” he said.

The Defence Minister also warned security operatives against hara$$ing, intimidating, or extorting members of the public, emphasizing that their responsibility is to protect law-abiding citizens rather than victimize them.

He called on personnel to uphold professionalism, discipline, and accountability in the discharge of their duties.

Musa described the newly commissioned vehicles and motorcycles as a significant addition to Sokoto State’s security infrastructure, noting that they would improve the mobility and operational capacity of security agencies in tackling baπditry, ter√0rism, k!dn@pping, and other vi0lent crimes.

He further observed that cr!minal groups continue to adapt their methods and exploit challenging terrains, stressing that security agencies must likewise strengthen their response through improved mobility, intelligence-driven operations, and enhanced coordination.
