Etinosa Idemudia has stirred reactions online after speaking against the practice of sharing private messages and emotional tributes only after a person’s d3ath.
Speaking during a recent podcast, the Nollywood actress criticised people who post unreplied direct messages and emotional stories about deceased individuals, especially colleagues who allegedly ignored them while they were alive.
Etinosa also called out movie producers and fellow actors who, according to her, refuse collaboration requests during a person’s lifetime but later flood social media with emotional tributes after the person dies.
She warned that anyone who shares such messages after her d3ath would face serious consequences, even if only “in their dreams.”
Her comments come amid reactions following reports about the d3ath of Alex Ekubo, which led many celebrities and associates to publicly share their last conversations and moments with him online.
The actress’ remarks have since generated mixed reactions on social media, with some people agreeing that certain tributes often appear insincere or motivated by online attention.
“All those people that post people’s DM when they are d3ad, if you post my DM, I’ll wake up, slap you and go back to the grave. Don’t try it,” she said
“DM that you didn’t reply, my enemy will d!e. now. If you try it and post that ‘Oh, we should have worked together, I was looking forward to working with you,’ what I will do to you in your dream, you wouldn’t believe it,” she added.
