After posting what he claimed to be advise from a billionaire mentor regarding marriage and selecting a life mate, a Nigerian man has generated discussions on social media.
He claimed that the mentor clarified that many young men unintentionally make poor choices while selecting a spouse, frequently emphasising the wrong attributes.
“Most young men have already signed a contract with poverty, so they are looking for a co-founder to continue that company,” he said.
He went on to say that picking a woman based on her cooking and cleaning skills is one of the biggest mistakes men make, emphasising that a wife should be viewed as a life partner rather than a maid.
The man went on to say that his instructor also cautioned against marrying a woman only because she is quiet, extremely obedient, or always agrees, pointing out that these characteristics may eventually hinder development.
“He said, don’t marry a lady because she can cook and clean. Your wife is your partner, not your maid. Marry for value. Also, don’t marry an ‘oh yes’ person. Marry someone who can challenge you, correct you, and help you grow. And don’t marry for looks alone, marry for vision,” he added.
In order to emphasise that marriage should go beyond household chores, he also disclosed that his instructor gave a personal example, saying that his wife has not entered the kitchen for years because they can afford domestic help.
His remarks have sparked conflicting opinions on the internet, with many discussing whether value and vision should take precedence over conventional roles in contemporary partnerships.
