A Nigerian woman has generated outrage online after discussing her thoughts on dating and marriage, particularly with men in their 30s who lack a solid job.
In a viral video published on X (previously Twitter), she warned women in their dating phase to be cautious of the men they chose, emphasising financial stability as a critical issue.
Read what she said below:
“As a lady that is in her dating phase, please know this, a man’s biological prime starts and ends from 20 to 40. If he is 30, 35, or close to 40 and he doesn’t have a stable income, please do not date or marry him.”
She went on to say that males in that age bracket who are not financially secure may struggle to attain success later in life, warning women not to take such chances.
The lady also linked cultural expectations of women’s age and “prime” to men’s financial position, arguing that both should be taken seriously when selecting a mate.
“A man that is 35 or heading to 40 without a strong income, please don’t marry that kind of man. There is every possibility he might not make it. Just like they say a woman at 30 has passed her prime, that’s how a broke man at 30 to 40 will hardly make it,” she added.
Her statement elicited diverse reactions online, with many people expressing opposing views on the subject.
One user wrote, “Money is important, no doubt, but life no be timetable. Some people blow at 45.” Another added, “But she still has a point, suffering no sweet o.”
