A man’s account of a challenging family circumstance involving his brother has ignited an online conversation about entitlement and financial support within families.

Family conflict over support emerges

He says the incident began weeks ago while he was staying with his brother in Abeokuta, where he struggled to pay for meals and was forced to eat staples until he called his mother for assistance.

The latest advancement now centers on how family members expect support during difficult times..

“Few weeks ago, I shared how my own brother made me face serious hunger when I was stuck with him in Abeokuta… to the point where I was eating pawpaw for survival until I called my mum for help,” he said.

“He came to my DM explaining everything, so I offered my Android. This guy said he saw me with two iPhones and wants one instead. Now my mum is calling me, but I told her I bought the phone for a reason and I’m not ready to dash it out,” he added.
