After sobbing as she described how her boyfriend ended their relationship on her convocation day, a Nigerian woman sparked strong emotions on social media.
The young woman was seen wearing her convocation gown and cap in a widely shared video on X (formerly Twitter). She was clearly upset as she described the traumatic event that happened on what should have been one of her happiest days.
She claims that after years of arduous labor, the day was supposed to be one of happiness and celebration, but it soon became one of heartache.
“Today is supposed to be my convocation. Today is supposed to be a very good day for me, and I’m meant to be happy all through today. But I don’t know how I’m supposed to feel right now. I feel very bad, I feel really weak because someone I’ve known for 7 years decided to send me a breakup message on my convocation day.,” she said.
She expressed confusion over her emotions, noting that the timing of the breakup made the situation even harder to process.
“I know I’m not supposed to let anything come in between today. I’m supposed to wear that smile, go out there and act like I’m the happiest person today, because I know I owe myself that happiness,” she added.
