Adekunle Gold, a Nigerian artist, has talked candidly about his friendship with musician Davido, characterising him as a true friend who constantly supports those he loves.

The comments were made by Adekunle Gold, also referred to as AG Baby, during an appearance on the One54 Africa Podcast, which is hosted by Godfrey Danchimah and Akbar Gbajabiamila.

When considering Davido’s character away from the spotlight, the singer commended his readiness to help friends and allies outside of their artistic endeavours.

Adekunle Gold said, “Davido will ride for anybody he loves.”

He added, “He’s a genuine person who consistently supports people within his circle. And his support goes beyond just music.”

The singer disclosed that after working together on the 2021 hit song “High,” their relationship grew closer.

Adekunle Gold called Davido after writing the song because he thought he was the ideal musician to feature.

Recalling Davido’s response, he said, “Davido flew to Los Angeles for the video shoot and we had a great time.”

Their musical relationship has continued since then, with Davido also appearing on “Only God Can Save Me” from Adekunle Gold’s Fuji album.

In addition to collaborating on songs, the two Nigerian celebrities have made unexpected cameos at one another’s concerts.

Adekunle Gold’s remarks provided more details on the singers’ friendship, which he described as based more on sincere support and regard for one another than just music.
