Abubakar Muhammad Tahir, councillor for Mayana Ward in Gusau, distributed charcoal and locally made pressing irons to residents as part of an empowerment initiative.

According to Nasarawa Daily News, the items were provided to beneficiaries so they could engage in petty trading and small-scale ventures that required charcoal and charcoal irons. The outreach aimed at constituents in Mayana Ward.

The development adds to a string of similar initiatives by public officials across the country. In May 2024, Rufai Hanga distributed thousands of white cloth materials and clay pots to Kano Central Senatorial District constituents.

Earlier in March 2024, Alex Mascot Ikwechegh distributed cooking stoves and other household items to Abia State residents as part of an empowerment initiative..

In February 2022, a councillor in Sokoto State reportedly donated plastic mats to a community in Kebbe Local Government Area.
