Fulham won 3-1 at the Stadium of Light, with to impressive performances from Alex Iwobi and Raúl Jimenez, bringing them back into the top half of the Premier League rankings.

The opening half lacked intensity, with both teams fighting to gain control.

However, the game changed in the 54th minute when Iwobi’s throw from a corner found Jiménez, who climbed highest to put Fulham ahead.

Seven minutes later, Jiménez increased the lead from the penalty spot after Sunderland committed a foul inside the box.

The Mexican forward converted from the spot, putting Fulham solidly in command.

Sunderland cut the lead in the 76th minute through Enzo Le Fée, who also scored from the penalty spot, briefly increasing optimism for the home team.

Any hopes of a comeback were dashed in the 85th minute. Harry Wilson initiated a rapid transition, which released Iwobi on the left side of the penalty area.

The Nigerian international finished decisively, hitting a left-footed shot into the bottom corner beyond Robin Roefs to restore Fulham’s two-goal lead.

The outcome is a necessary adjustment for Marco Silva’s team following a slump in form.

Fulham are presently 10th in the league, securing their status as the season progresses.

Sunderland’s defeat is their third consecutive league loss, raising concerns about their ability to maintain early-season momentum.
