“Corper Kunle, oya tell it to their face” — Man recounts awkward moment after uncovering theft during NYSC

An investigation into alleged theft at a cocoa store resulted in an unexpected public clash, according to a Nigerian man who shared an outstanding event from his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year.

The man revealed in a social media post that he spent his service year working as an accountant for a cocoa trader. He claimed he turned down a full-time job offer from his employer later on.

He claims that a few months into his position, his employer ordered him to look into the missing merchandise after voicing concerns about ongoing theft at the cocoa store.

The man recalled his employer stating, “Abi no be wetin accountant suppose sabi do?” during the exchange.

He claimed to have reconciled business operations, examined financial records, and found inconsistencies that identified two storekeepers.

The individual clarified that he sent his findings to his employer with the expectation that the issue would be resolved in private.

However, he claimed that when his employer called a meeting of all employees the next day, things took an unexpected turn.

According to the post, the employer said, “Corper Kunle, oya tell it to their face.”

The man admitted the moment caught him off guard, writing, “That was one of the most uncomfortable moments of my entire NYSC year. I honestly wasn’t prepared for that.”
