A Nigerian mother of two has complained online about tax deductions on a ₦25,000 transfer.

The woman, identified with the Facebook account Nwawiri Amarachi, criticised the tax deducted from her ₦25,000 transfer as excessive.

In a popular social media post, the author shared a screenshot of a ₦87 transaction on January 3, 2025.

‎”I was charged almost 100 naira for tax.Nigeria,which way?.This tax is too much o. That means 100k tax fee will be very very big.This is getting serious“,

Previously, a Nigerian guy screamed out on social media after sending ₦100k to his bank account, posting the amount credited.

The tweet, posted around 3:14 pm on December 31, 2025, has 188k views.

The individual, known as @betsage4 on X (previously Twitter), claimed that he sent ₦100k to his Zenith Bank account and was credited ₦63k.

‎Expressing displeasure, he inquired, “Yo @ZenithBank, what kind of madness is this? I sent ₦100k to my Zenith account and saw ₦63k as balance. What’s going on?”.
