According to a report by the Times of Israel on Friday October 30, 2026, Argentine President Javier Milei has congratulated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following the latest election, describing the Likud party’s performance as a “great victory.”
In a message posted on X, Milei said Likud had once again emerged as the leading political force in Israel. He also praised Netanyahu’s leadership, arguing that the Prime Minister had maintained his political strength despite opinion polls and predictions that indicated a less favourable outcome.
Milei further reaffirmed Argentina’s close relationship with Israel, saying both countries would remain strategic partners in confronting forces he believes oppose Western values.
However, despite Likud finishing as the largest party in the election, Netanyahu’s wider coalition bloc failed to secure a majority in the Knesset. The result means that the party’s strong performance does not automatically translate into a parliamentary majority or guarantee an easy path to forming the next government.
