A Nigerian guy has revealed his experience after landing in the United States in 2018.
In a widely distributed tweet, the man explained why he left Nigeria and how he survived in the US.
Identified as @Sgtshow01 on X (previously Twitter), he worked 12-hour nite shifts at a factory from 7 p.m.-7 a.m.
He slept for 3 hours in the factory parking lot from 7-10 a.m. before attending class.
However, during classes from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., he frequently nodded asleep before going to work.
“I’ll sleep for 3hrs in the parking lot of the factory from 7am to 10am then go to class. I was studying full stack Java development.Class was 11am to 5pm, I’ll sleep in class for another hour before driving to work again“, He added
Meanwhile, this routine lasted four months, and he barely made it through the program before becoming psychologically tired.
During the winter season, he struggled to get enough sleep and ate little.
”I was barely eating through that winter. That period was not the hardest time in the USA. You don’t want to know the hardest period. I can’t share”, He added.
