Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has spoken out against the ongoing xenophobia-related tensions and attacks in South Africa.

The actor made the remarks while receiving the Industry Merit Award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.

During his acceptance speech, Kanayo urged Africans around the world not to remain silent over the situation, stressing the need for people to speak up and stand against att@cks targeting fellow Africans living in other countries.

According to him, Africans must unite and support one another instead of pretending that the growing tensions and violence are normal.

His comments come amid renewed concerns and online discussions surrounding xenophobic incidents in South Africa, particularly involving foreign nationals from other African countries, including Nigeria.
