The Abia State Police Command has arrested four individuals over an alleged attempt to demolish the property of a widow, Mrs. Nkechinyere Ndukwe.
The widow’s son, Obinna Ndukwe, had earlier raised an alarm that about 10 men stormed the family’s property at No. 62 Mission Hill in Umuahia, Abia State, and began removing windows and roofing sheets in preparation for demolition before the police intervened.
He stated that officers arrived at the scene and arrested four of the suspects, while the remaining individuals fled.
Confirming the incident, the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Maureen Chinaka, said the case is linked to a long-standing property dispute currently under investigation by the FCID.
She added that the matter remains under active investigation as authorities work to apprehend the fleeing suspects and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
