The victim, Mr. Igwe Akuma, was allegedly preparing to tie the knot a few days prior to his k!l.l, according to a statement released by Ohafia’s highest traditional body.

“The Udumeze condemns in its entirety the gruesome k!l.l of a young Ohafian who was said to be getting married in a few days,” the statement said.
The statement stated unequivocally that k!ll!.ng an Ohafia son under any pretense, regardless of the provocation, was unacceptable and that k!ll!.ng and destruction were not the best ways to begin a new year.
The Udumeze of Ohafia Council stated that it was collaborating with pertinent security agencies to keep the situation from getting worse while pleading for peace between the Ndi Owom and Ndi Uma compounds.
The DPO of Ohafia Divisional Headquarters reportedly led officers to arrest some suspects who are now being interrogated.
