Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has approved the payment of the first phase of veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu’s medical bills after she publicly appealed for financial assistance.

The governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment, Martins Justice, announced the intervention on Tuesday, explaining that the payment covers only part of the actress’s medical expenses.

The 62-year-old actress recently disclosed that she had been hospitalised for three weeks and urgently needed ₦30 million to undergo three critical surgeries.

Reacting to the governor’s intervention, Martins Justice expressed appreciation to Governor Otti for coming to the actress’s aid. However, he appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to continue supporting Ngozi Nwosu so she can raise the remaining funds needed for her medical treatment.
