Geoffrey Mosiria has rescued a 14-year-old girl allegedly forced into marriage with an elderly man in the Kasarani area of Nairobi.

According to reports, Mosiria led a late-night operation after receiving distress calls from neighbours and a security guard who claimed the girl had been crying continuously at night.

The minor was reportedly found living with a man identified as Abdigafar Ahmed Yusuf, who allegedly claimed to be 46 years old. Investigators also reportedly discovered disputed documents and altered identity records during the probe.

Authorities said the girl, who is reportedly from Ethiopia, may have been married off at the age of 12 in 2024. Officials further alleged that she has no relatives in Kenya apart from an uncle who is accused of selling her, while her mother is believed to still reside in Ethiopia.

The suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue into the alleged forced marriage and possible involvement of family members.

In a video shared after the rescue, Mosiria was seen confronting the suspect, who reportedly attempted to defend the arrangement by referencing religion and cultural tradition.
