A 31-year-old serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member and teacher at a private school in Delta State has been arrested and arraigned over the alleged s£xual abu$e of a six-year-old girl.

The suspect, who reportedly teaches at a private school off Jakpa Road in Uvwie Local Government Area of the state, is accused of taking the child to his apartment within the school premises on several occasions and abu$ing her.

Child recounts alleged abuse

According to the child’s account, the alleged incidents occurred on three occasions when her mother arrived late to pick her up from school.

In a video shared online, the girl reportedly told an interviewer that the corps member took her to his room when other pupils and staff had left the school.

“He took me to his room when everyone was not around,” she said.

The child further alleged that the suspect thr3atened to b3at her and deny the incident if she told her mother.

Asked where the alleged incident occurred, she reportedly replied:

“In his room.”

When asked how she got into the room, the girl allegedly responded:

“He dr@gged me.”

She also said her classmates and class teacher were no longer around at the time.

“No. That time everybody have already closed.”

Case taken to court

The child reportedly alleged that the suspect used a white handkerchief to clean bl00d after the incident.

A medical examination reportedly indicated that the child’s hymen was broken, although the full medical findings and circumstances surrounding the examination have not been independently verified.

A Delta-based activist who reportedly took up the case said the suspect was arraigned before High Court 1, Effurun, and remanded at the Warri Prison, Okere.

The case was reportedly adjourned until September 18, 2026, pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The allegations against the NYSC member have not been proven in court, and the case remains ongoing.
