A 29-year-old Sociology graduate of Kogi State University, identified as Blessing Moshood, was reportedly mu√dered and her body dumped in a canal in Jikwoyi.

Speaking with Daily Trust on Sunday, May 24, 2026, the deceased’s sister, Abigail Moshood, said Blessing left their home around 8 p.m. on Thursday after receiving a phone call.

According to Abigail, Blessing later called the family about an hour afterward, saying she planned to briefly return home to pick up a phone charger she had forgotten.

She added that the family became alarmed after they stopped hearing from her and she failed to return home the following day.
