2027: “Nothing will stop him” – APC chieftain declares on Governor Fubara’s second term

Governor Siminalyi Fubara would run unopposed for a second term in 2027, according to a Rivers State All Progressives Congress APC official.

The party leader indicated that present political conditions significantly favour the governor’s re-election on the APC platform.

Emeka Bekee made the assertion during a live television interview on Wednesday, in response to queries about Rivers politics.

Bekee stated that Governor Fubara is well-positioned and committed to run for another term in the next governorship race.

His remarks come amid escalating political tensions in Rivers State, which have been fueled by a long-running power struggle.

The crisis is mainly attributed to differences between Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike and Governor Fubara.

Bekee indicated that APC internal mechanisms would determine candidates for the 2027 elections.

He pointed out that the party has numerous established processes, including consensus and other internal arrangements.

The APC chieftain emphasised that no contender wins a ticket without following due process.

However, he argued that recent political developments could benefit sitting governors who support the party.

Bekee intimated that governors who just joined the APC could gain substantial national support.

He stated that Governor Fubara would still purchase nomination forms and officially indicate interest in the contest.

According to him, national political accords could have a significant impact on the final conclusion.

Bekee claimed that Rivers State requires stability and prosperity, not long-term political strife.

He cautioned that the state’s governance and economic progress could be slowed if the crisis prolonged.

The APC leader went on to say that if the party agrees to second-term bids for incumbents, Fubara would not be disqualified.

He claimed that such an arrangement would remove hurdles to the governor’s re-election campaign.

Bekee decided that once the party settles on its course, Fubara’s second term candidature would be unavoidable.

Nobody Will Stop Him.”
