The woman who was reportedly with former Nigerian military Head of State, General Sani Abacha, when he suddenly d!ed has allegedly denied any involvement in his de@th, claiming that he collapsed during an intimate encounter.

According to Dennis Amachree, a retired Department of State Services (DSS) operative, the woman, whom he described as an Igbo pharmacist, made the statement while being interrogated following Abacha’s mysterious de@th.

Speaking in his newly released 348-page book, DSS @40: My Journey Behind the Shield, Amachree said Abacha passed away at about 4:05 a.m. on June 8, 1998, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

He maintained that the former military ruler suffered what he described as a coitus-induced cardiac arrest, insisting that the woman’s account represents the true version of events.

According to Amachree, after witnessing Abacha’s de@th, the woman immediately boarded the next flight to Lagos, where she was later located and brought in for questioning.

Recalling the interrogation, he said:

“My team located and brought her to my office. I interrogated her myself. The first thing she said to me was: ‘I did not kill him, he d!ed on top of me.’ After her detailed account, I called the Director in Abuja, and she was immediately flown back.”

Amachree argued that the woman’s account puts to rest the numerous conspiracy theories surrounding Abacha’s sudden de@th.

General Sani Abacha ruled Nigeria from November 1993 until his unexpected de@th in June 1998 at the age of 54. His passing came just weeks before the de@th of Chief Moshood Abiola, the presumed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, who d!ed while in government custody.
