U.S. President Donald Trump has reignited his long-running feud with NBA superstar LeBron James, suggesting the basketball icon might be “a rac!st” while declaring Michael Jordan the greatest player in NBA history.

Trump made the remarks during a White House news conference after being asked about James’ reported decision to join the Philadelphia 76ers on a two-year contract, a move the 41-year-old described as the “last decision” of his NBA career after opting against retirement.

Asked whether James or Jordan was the greatest basketball player of all time, Trump sided firmly with the Chicago Bulls legend.

“Michael Jordan is a guy that’s a friend of mine. I play golf with him. He’s a really good guy,” Trump said.

He then added:

“I think LeBron is, maybe he’s a rac!st, but maybe he doesn’t like Trump. I don’t know. I only like people that like me, so I would say Michael Jordan all the way.”

James has been an outspoken critic of Trump over the years and publicly endorsed Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris during their campaigns.

In 2017, the NBA star famously referred to Trump as “a bum” during a dispute over White House invitations for championship-winning NBA teams.

Despite the political clashes, James remains one of the most decorated players in basketball history, having won four NBA championships, four league MVP awards, and becoming the NBA’s all-time leader in both points scored and games played.

The veteran forward will now aim to capture a fifth NBA title after announcing his move to the Philadelphia 76ers.
