“You want to marry me, not my past” – Lady blasts men obsessed with body count, says her past doesn’t matter

A Nigerian woman, Nwakego Nworie, has sparked online debate after airing her views on body count and marriage, encouraging men who intend to marry to stop fixating on a woman’s sexual past.

In a Facebook post that has since gone viral, Nwakego stated that what should matter to any serious man is not how many men a woman has been with before, but who she is now and the future they can build together.

She noted that many men spend too much time digging into a woman’s history instead of considering her present character and values.

Nwakego advised men seeking marriage to concentrate on the woman they want to marry rather than investigating her sexual history.

Read what she wrote below;

“My body count does not matter. If you want to marry me, you don’t need to worry about my body count. You don’t need to dig into my past life as if you are looking for evidence in a criminal case. What matters is the person I am today and the kind of future we can build together.”

Nwakego questioned why society continues to judge women based on their sexual history while ignoring their growth, transformation, and character.

She argued that a woman’s past does not determine her ability to be a good wife and mother, noting that marriage should be focused on building a future together rather than lingering on past experiences.

To back up her point, Nwakego also referenced the Bible, quoting 2 Corinthians 5:17, which talks about becoming a new creation in Christ.

The Bible verse reads:

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

She explained that if God forgives people and makes them new, others should also learn to embrace change.

According to her, sincere repentance and a commitment to live differently should be considered when choosing a life partner.

She added:

“So, if I have repented, changed my ways and chosen to live differently, why should you keep judging me? Love conquers all. My body count does not matter. My past does not matter.”
